Murphy’s Laws

If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong

If anything can go wrong, it will

If anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway

If you perceive that there are four possible ways in which something can go wrong, and circumvent these, then a fifth way, unprepared for, will promptly develop

Left to themselves, things tend to go from bad to worse

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something

Nature always sides with the hidden flaw

Murphy’s Law of Thermodynamics
Things get worse under pressure.

The Murphy Philosophy
Smile . . . tomorrow will be worse.

Quantization Revision of Murphy’s Laws
Everything goes wrong all at once.

Murphy’s Constant
Matter will be damaged in direct proportion to its value

Murphy’s Law of Research
Enough research will tend to support whatever theory.

Research supports a specific theory depending on the amount of funds

Addition to Murphy’s Laws
In nature, nothing is ever right. Therefore, if everything is going right … something is wrong.

More Laws

  • It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
  • Rule of Accuracy: When working toward the solution of a problem, it always helps if you know the answer.
Corollary: Provided, of course, that you know there is a problem.
  • Nothing is as easy as it looks.
  • Everything takes longer than you think.
  • Whenever you set out to do something, something else must be done first.
  • Every solution breeds new problems.
  • The legibility of a copy is inversely proportional to its importance.
  • no matter how perfect things are made to appear, Murphy’s law will take effect and screw it up.
  • You cannot successfully determine beforehand which side of the bread to butter.
  • The chance of the buttered side of the bread falling face down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
  • More Laws of Selective Gravitation.
  • A falling object will always land where it can do the most damage.
  • A shatterproof object will always fall on the only surface hard enough to crack or break it.
  • A paint drip will always find the hole in the newspaper and land on the carpet underneath (and will not be discovered until it has dried).
  • A dropped power tool will always land on the concrete instead of the soft ground (if outdoors) or the carpet (if indoors) – unless it is running, in which case it will fall on something it can damage (like your foot).
  • If a dish is dropped while removing it from the cupboard, it will hit the sink, breaking the dish and chipping or denting the sink in the process.
  • A valuable dropped item will always fall into an inaccessible place (a diamond ring down the drain, for example) – or into the garbage disposal while it is running.
  • If you use a pole saw to saw a limb while standing on an aluminum ladder borrowed from your neighbor, the limb will fall in such a way as to bend the ladder before it knocks you to the ground.
  • If you pick up a chunk of broken concrete and try to pitch it into an adjacent lot, it will hit a tree limb and come down right on the driver’s side of your car windshield.
  • More Laws of Selective Gravitation
  • The greater the value of the rug, the greater the probability that the cat will throw up on it.
  • You will always find something in the last place you look.
  • If your looking for more than one thing, you’ll find the most important one last

Question: Who is Murphy????

God has just been filling my life with so much.. He’s making up for the horrible disappointment the last week. He speaks through so many people. He speaks of plans.. plans he has made just for me.. I don’t know why he loves me.. I dont understand how he could love me inspiteof all my faults.. there are times when I’m so disgusted with myself and the way that I am.. but he never is… never will be.. I’m so overwhelmed by Him.. lost in his love

Love that died to set me free..Nothing beats that.

I love you Jesus. I love everything about you. I love the way you love me.

Today was so much fun.

We had only three lectures.. in one of them all we did was take a bunch of crayons and draw a ‘tree of life’ with the roots representing our.. um.. roots, the trunks represent our support system that includes all of you guys 🙂 , the fruits represent our success.. (i found that i could only think of two, so i added that i won a 50 meter race once.. hey, that’s an achievement !!!), the buds represent our aspirations.. mine are- wanna learn to dance, be a real good child psychologist, get married (very very imp), adopt a kid.. etc etc.. I felt like I was in pre school again.. what a refreshing change from Cognitive or abnormal psych.

We waited back in college to dicuss events that we’re organising as TY Psych students *feels all important*.. Life’s just so full of activities all of a sudden..

and after that we went to the BEACH !!!

There we were in the rain on the beach having the time of our lives. Samarth would not let him himself get wet in the rain.. for fear of germs *rolls eyes*..The rest of us got rid of our bags, cell phones, ipods and set out to enjoy ourselves. (Samarth stayed back with his umber-lilla to guard our bags)  AND WE DID!!!!

we got wet..soakin wet… it was soooo cold.. brrrr… there was sand everywhere, on our hands and feet, on our bags, in our mouths..well… in mine anyway. And we played the ‘trust’ game…. lol….

And oscar and I found a new fun word.. ‘himner’. None of you get to know what it means.. you can try and gues but thats as far you’ll get.. We had amazing french toast courtesy Eben’s mom.. and we went home.. the weather was just so beautiful..*sigh*….got me thinkin… *sigh again*

Life’s simply beautiful..

enjoying every bit of it..

[aren’t you all glad I’m not complaining anymore]

i think i’m starting to like wordpress. i miss blogger.. oh well.. you have to move on.I love the themes they have here.. they have so much in GREEN…

I met an old ‘friend’ today.. felt so strange.. i didn’t want to be there at that time. I wanted to be far away…. watching from a distance. Is it always going to be this way??

i’m just so tired of how shallow people are..They pretend to be what they’re not.

what do they lack?       simple, pure LOVE

I’m tired of everything around me. There are questions within me that demand answers. There are people around me who have questions for me and they are kind enough to provide thier own answers as well.

I’m hurt. I’ve lost my faith in people save select few. I’m tired of letting people have their own way with me….

i’m sorry this post had to be so depressing but thats just how I feel right now.

Atleast I’m honest.

here I am

i’ve turned my back on blogger…

it hurt to do it but i had to…

before i flung something at my computer.

” Psychology is not a study of human behavior,
it is a study of American freshers. “

As I sat in a train today, all by myself, I thought of all the people who did the same thing just two days ago. People who expected to see the light of a new dawn. They’re gone. Never to return.

I want to forget. But I can’t. Those were my sisters, my brothers.. my family.

you can pretend it doesn’t bother you.. but you know it does. It hurts you too.

In a desperate attempt to forget, I baked a cake..
can’t even bring myself to taste it…

My heart is empty. My tears are gone.
A new day dawns and life goes on.

I have no words to describe what I have seen on TV.
It was awful, simply awful.
to see so many people hurt….

people with families and children..people like me.
all they wanted was to get home. nothing more.

i cant think of any thing to type. I am so shocked.

7-9 blasts all on the western railway line, ALL first class compartments.
137 people dead, over 300 injured.
there are rumours of there having been two blasts at B’vali.
and they managed to defuse 1 bomb at b’vali stn that might have gone off otherwise.

God, save this city.

this city needs Love.
this city needs You.

maybe this is a sign…
will I marry an Italian after all??
will my Mother’s worst nightmare come true?

Italy won!!! yay!!!!!

for those of you who were wondering-
I finished one submission and I have one submission to give in tomorrow which will be marked LATE by my professor. i’m sure he enjoys this…..
